The Nest (3 months – 18 months)
The Nest is our baby room. It is an open plan space with lots of natural light where your baby will enjoy soft play and tummy time on our carpet areas, and early interaction with books. There are also lots of age-appropriate loose parts for exploration and creative play.
Our expert practitioners provide a range of activities each day that will keep your child engaged, and learning, which always includes the opportunity to play with a malleable material to develop hand and finger strength.
This room also has a cosy sleep room with sleep mats and pods, and your child will have access to a covered, decked area through double doors which is used all year round.
The Nook (20 – 28 months)
This room is in a shared building with the baby room to ensure a smooth transition from one to the other.
In the Nook, your child will have access to a cosy book corner, role play equipment and a range of activities they can select for themselves. They can also use a covered decking area as well as a large area that is located alongside it with a giant sand pit and tuft trays filled with intriguing materials and tasks.
Every room has an art and malleable activity on offer each day.

The Atelier (28 – 36 months)
The Atelier room is a spacious room which is partitioned off from our Studio room. Here your child will have the opportunity to access role play materials, a well-stocked book corner and can self-select from a range of engaging activities.
There is always an art and malleable activity each day, and access to a large garden at the end of the building where they will find an impressive mud kitchen, sand pit and lots of equipment for constructing their own obstacle course.
Children also benefit from Spanish lessons once a week.
The Studio (36 months – 5 years)
The Studio is a spacious room full of light, which is partitioned off from the adjoining Atelier room. This helps the children transition from one room to the next as they become familiar with both the rooms and the staff.
In the Studio your child will have access to a variety of activities and loose part, as well as a home corner, role play equipment, and a fabulous book corner. They will also have a daily arts and crafts activity involving the use of a malleable material.
Staff focus on preparing your child for Reception class, so teach phonics and play maths games during circle time. Once a week, they are taught Spanish.
The Studio and Atelier share a garden but go out at different times of the day.

Nursery Manager: Danielle Day
My early years journey began in 2002 when I started my own childminding business, which I ran for over 10 years. When my children were older and attending school, I moved into a school setting so I could continue doing what I love while still spending quality time with my family. In 2022 I joined Muddy Boots Nursery and have since progressed into the role of Nursery Manager.
I believe early years practitioners should be co-adventurers alongside the children, supporting them as they explore and grow. Creating a warm, home-from-home environment is very important to me, where children feel safe, secure and confident to thrive. Our key person approach helps build strong relationships with both children and families, ensuring every child feels valued and supported.
Outside of nursery life, I am very much a family person. My husband and I have three grown-up children and we enjoy spending lots of time together, often through sport as we are a very active family. I’m also Vice Captain of my local ladies’ rugby team, which both of my daughters play for as well. We’ve had two promotions in the last two years and won the Papa John’s Cup last year, although I may be hanging up my boots soon and taking up something a little less physical.
One of the most rewarding parts of being a Nursery Manager is seeing the children grow, achieve their milestones and develop into their own little personalities. I also really value building strong partnerships with families and supporting staff to grow in confidence and develop their careers in early years.
